Beginning in the 1930's, GW Trask and his sons started working the same plots of land that you'll find the Trask Family Farm on today. Generation after generation of this family has worked and tended to the land in order to grow fresh produce for the local community and beyond. Once the largest fruit and vegetable producer on the east coast, TFF evolves and grows as the years go by. We couldn't be more proud of what this farm and family has accomplished and are so excited for everything to come!
Stretching over 35 acres, TFF grows tomatoes, sweet corn, pumpkins, melons, peppers, flowers, and more! We tend to each plot ourselves and decide from year to year what we should do next. But TFF Is not just a farm, it's a destination. Beyond the produce stands of in-season goods, you'll find you-pick-it tomatoes, fall and summer mazes, local and homemade treats, regional goods, and plenty of opportunities for photo ops. With our new barn, there will be produce for purchase inside along with homemade treats like watermelon and cantaloupe sorbet. We love getting others involved at the farm with activities almost all year round. When you come to this farm, there's something here for everyone!
After more than 130 years and six generations of farmers, the Trask family has a long history of caring for the land in New Hanover County. Now led by twenty-two-year-old George Trask, the family is carrying on at Trask Family Farms with decades-old traditions, along side new ideas and offerings. George is passionate about continuing his family's legacy and is currently working 12-14-hour days, seven days a week to help TFF grow into its new era. With the support of his father Richard and mother Angie, he is determined to see TFF become a regional destination and local house-hold name. The Trask family has loved their farm for decades and they know you will too.
While TFF has a rich past, we are always looking towards the future. We plan to expand the number of activities and offerings at the farm and continue to grow well into the future. Stay in touch with us through our email list or on social media to see what is all to come!
